Many people say saving money requires frugal living, but it’s not true. Saving money means controlling the unnecessary expenses and spending money wisely. Present uncertainty of time and money doesn’t allow a person to be carefree about their future. As it was told that frugal living and saving money has deferent meaning, you don’t have to eat less or to live a low standard life. You have to change the habits of spending money on unnecessary bills and items. For example, if you can cook food then why to lurk for the unhealthy restaurant food. There are many more things in which you can save money by spending wisely.

Preparing the budget is a necessary act to know and control the expenditure. By preparing a budget you evaluate how much money you are spending and on what. If you are wise enough to prepare a budget then you are a step ahead from every other person who thinks saving money is a frugal living and not a cup of their tea. After preparing a budget you should evaluate the things which are unnecessary or less necessary and how can you save money on other things by taking wise steps.

Following is the few wise steps that can help you to save a good amount of money without even worrying about standard of living.

  1. Proper maintenance of your vehicle will save money on the fuel. If the engine of your vehicle is proper maintained and tuned up than it will consume less fuel to run and give you good mileage.
  2. Replace the bulbs and tube lights of your house with CFL or LED bulbs and tube lights. This is energy efficient and can reduce the electric bill. One should also switch off the electronic appliances if not in use. People often forget to turn off computer, Television or music system when they retire to bed, this increases the electricity bills.
  3. Evaluate the wardrobe and make a list on what are the things that are needed to buy when going on shopping for clothes. This will save your money on random buying of clothes which you don’t need actually.
  4. Bulk buying of groceries and other items are beneficial to save money, as most of the stores provide 10-20% discount on bulk buying. Also, you can save money on the membership card of the stores if you are subscribed with one.

These are the few wise steps that will help you to save couple or more dollars from the expenditure, and you can dream about the better future. Saving money needs to be wise on spending if you will take them as a code of conduct of your expenditures than in a month or a year you will find a good amount of money in your bank account.

Leading your life is not easy, since it means freeing yourself from different assumptions. When you lead your life, you get a taste of true freedom, but this experience can be scary and painful – this is the reason that only a few people do it.

You were born and raised living in a society,  so it is much easier to follow the society’s assumptions. The nude truth is that by follow the assiumptions of society, it leaves you unfulfilled.

Check if any of the following assumptions are true to discover if you are leading your life or not.

You do things you don’t want to do, and feel obligated to do it. It happens to a lot of people, but remember that your first duty is to yourself. You can’t save the world if you can not save yourself.

You dislike your job. There are many excuses for it: you picked up a job because it was easier or safer than your ideal carrer, or you are even doing what you family told you to do.

Yo are living on a short budget. Money should never be a problem, and the real problem here are your priorities. Don’t let the things you own switch it’s place and own you.

Spend According to Your Budget


Sometimes in tough financial conditions it is hard to spend according to the budget. People tend to fail in following the budget and end up with no or less money for their other expenses.  In such times trimming the expenses is the only option left with many people. Trimming expenses and control on expenditure can help you to save yourself from debt.

Cook at home:

Eating out is an extra weight to your pocket. When your budget is tight then cooking at home will cut the maximum of your expenses.  By cooking at home you are not just trimming your expenses, but also you will be eating a healthy meal.

Buy in bulk:

Buying non-perishable groceries in bulk will help you to get the discount and will cut all the expenditure on daily trips to the shop.  Don’t limit bulk buying to food items only, you can buy shampoo, laundry items, dish soap, etc. Buying these things in bulk can give you a big saving at the end of a year.

Minimize the credit card payment:

Credit cards are not essentially evil. Most of the people trap themselves in debt because of overspending through the use of credit card. Try not to use the credit card, unless it is very urgent. By controlling the use of credit card you will keep control on your expenses and will save yourself from debt.

Shopping:

Many people just head to the mall with their credit cards and buy all the unnecessary things, called impulse buying. Make a list of the things that is needed and think if you really need those things. Impulse buying can be hazardous for your budget. Also, price check in other stores and with friends is also a good technique to get the best bargained price for your needs.

Travel:

You can save lots of money by trimming your travel expenses. You can take a metro train or tram to go to your offices or for the shopping. You can share a ride with any of your friends, neighbors or colleagues.

Miscellaneous expenses:

The money you spent on Coffee, snacks, breakfast, etc. are the miscellaneous expenses. You can save lots of money by avoiding or cutting the expenses on these.   Trimming Miscellaneous expenses may seem like a nickel and dime way to save money, but it can save the significant amount of money over time.

Family budgeting is a difficult job. It requires a lot of thinking, calculation work and forethought. First to all, the expected income from all the possible sources is taken into account. Then money is set aside for separate heads. Expenditure is usually allocated under three heads. First come the immediate needs. They include house rent, electricity and water bills, ration including provision, children fees and transportation. Some amount is set aside for entertainment and visits and essential clothing’s. Premium for insurance policies and compulsory savings also find a place in the budget. Some money is put under the head miscellaneous. In these hard times of rising process, no family can run smoothly without a proper budget thought it is difficult to stick to it.

Here are few tips to make an effective and accurate budget.

The Time Frame of your budget:

Before you start making your budget, you should first decide the time frame of your budget. Maximum people opt for the monthly budget, because bills and fees come once a month.

Calculate your income:

If you are a monthly salaried person then calculate your monthly salary and other source of money after tax deduction. Calculating all sources of income is important because it will help you to figure out how much money you are going to have for your expenses and savings.

Calculate your expenses:

Now that you know how much money you are going to have each month, you will have to figure out how much you spend in the same month. Expenses are calculated in three categories.

  • Constant Expenses- It includes the Rent, Fees, Insurance policies, Phone and Cable bills.
  • Flexible Expenses- It includes food, clothing’s, entertainment and traveling expenses.
  • Miscellaneous- Emergency expenses (Health related issues or some unwanted expenses)

After calculating your expenses if you find that your expenses are crossing your budget limit than this is the time you should start to think that where you can minimize your expenses.
