The cause of stress sometime can be as a result of taking yourself seriously. Life is definitely not to be taken too serious. If you are too serious with yourself, life will get by you. Release yourself and have fun once in a while. Create time to just go out and relax. Do not engage in any work; don’t even think any serious thought. There are some activities that you can engage in that will help you burn out stress from your body system. These activities are not expensive or unrealistic; they are things that you can engage in every day.

You can get engaged in a conversation with an old friend that you have not seen for a long time. Call that friend and fix time to have a time out. Talk about old things of the past. Reminiscing has a way of relaxing the mind. Agree beforehand not to engage in discussion that can sour your time out. Another thing you can do is to get a pet. Having a pet is a great way to avoid getting stressed out. Having a dog in the house can be fun. You get to play with your pet and when you just need to share your terrible secrets with someone, your pet is the best option.

Another way you can burn out stress is to get a good massage. This helps to relax both your mind and body. You can also curl up on the sofa with a good novel in your hand. Don’t read gory books; get books that make you smile. You can also engage in journal writing. Write down what is happening to you; write your thought and things that are disturbing your mind. This is another way of clearing your mind from all disturbing thoughts.

One other important thing you can do to relax you mind and body is to take a bath. Not just any kind of birth, but a long, luxurious bath. There is a feeling you have when you are having this kind of bath, you often feel as if all your cares and anxieties are being washed away from you mind. The other thing you can engage in to deal with stress is meditation. When you meditate, you are able to search your mind and soul to arrive at the source of your stress. And knowing the cause of your stress will enable you to know how to deal with it.

Your body requires quality and adequate rest. And whether you are willing to rest or unwilling, one way or the other, your body will get that rest. Let me elucidate on this flow of thought. You are willing if you voluntarily relax your body; either by sleeping or just relaxing. Your unwillingness to rest usually results in you having to go to the hospital and being forced to rest, usually through hospitalization. You will however agree with me that your unwillingness to rest would cost you more in terms of hospital bills, waste of time spent in the hospitalization (time you could have used doing something productive if you had taken your time to rest earlier), and of course, the pain of illness.

This may seems unimportant to you until you discover that at least over 70% of American adults are suffering from sleep disorder because they don’t get adequate sleep that is required to live a normal life. If you are interested in living a normal life therefore, you must take time to sleep. Sleep is very important when you consider your physical health, emotional well being, and of a necessity your mental well being. In a research by the National Sleep Foundation, it was discovered that the people who do not get adequate sleep are susceptible to psychiatric problems. They are also likely to use the health care service more than others. It also in the record that majority of the accidents on the road s are caused by drowsy drivers. And many people have lost their life in the process. This can be avoided if we all take time to rest.

There is no point being part of the statistics of people that are killed by road accidents caused by sleeplessness. Your life should be important to you even if not to any other person. And you must take care of your life. Avoid things that would cut your life short. Sleep properly when you ought to. As a matter of fact, sleep improves the quality of life. So, if you are really particular about living a worthwhile life, then take your sleeping issue serious.

Reputation – Ability

In coaching success I am fortunate to collaborate with many people who have exceptional ability. What is ability? Ability is the talents and skills that you bring to your business and life. In fact, most of the self-employed business owners, entrepreneurs, solo professionals and individuals who engage in coaching have exceptional abilities.

It is a privilege in my personal business coaching practice to be around and part of this talented group. All of them have ability. People see it in how they or their company delivers their product or service. To enhance your reputation wherever possible showcase your ability and that of your company.

When people are aware of your ability and what makes you unique it adds value to what you are doing. Very often, by adding value you can charge more for your product or service because your customers perceive that it is worth more. Being perceived as worth more is a great reputation to acquire.

Reputation – Dependability

To have continued small business growth, small business success or individual personal growth you must be dependable. You may have all the ability in the world but if you aren’t dependable, your reputation, business and life will suffer.

You must take that ability and be consistent in applying it. The history of business failure is more often than not, about people of great ability, yet they weren’t dependable. Without dependability, ability becomes unrealized potential. And, it will take second place to being dependable.

Reputation – Character

Character is the end result in determining your reputation. Think of character as an equation.

Ability + Dependability = Character

If your ability is great but your dependability needs some work then your character as measured by others will be deficient. Also, if your dependability is good but your product or service is not of top quality it will reflect badly on your character.

When you are putting together your marketing business plan or a startup business plan it is critical to show your abilities in your product or service and be dependable in delivery.

Reputation – What Is Most Important?

Too often businesses fail and end up on the scrap heap not because of lack of ability. They fail because of lack of dependability. They don’t deliver consistently or do what they say they are going to do when they say they are going to do it.

In reputation and small business growth, or personal growth for that matter, ability is important, but dependability is critical. You can have a business of average ability and because it is dependable it will succeed.

Or you can have a business of great abilities but lacking dependability and it will fail. Seek consistency. In the long run you can improve your abilities. But, if you start out and are not dependable it is hard to build your foundation and a loyal following.

Your reputation is about your character as a business and personally. Take your abilities and be dependable in delivering your product or service. That’s the reputation you must have for long term success.

There are many techniques available to you to help you towards the successful life you desire. Setting and working towards goals, using positive affirmations and visualization, and ensuring you define your true purpose are good examples.

All of them are important, but not on their own. They are part of a framework that you must be able to assemble in order to reach the success you desire for yourself. It’s something that is fundamental to your personal development and key to being the person you want to be.

So how do you build a framework for success? Here are seven steps to help you:

#1 Know What You Want

This is the point at which you must begin. Any journey needs a destination and you must know where you want to go in order to plan how to get there. For each part of your life – finance, career, health and fitness, relationships, contribution, and interests and hobbies – you must be clear about what you want.

#2 Set Goals

Once you know exactly what you want in each area, set goals to achieve it. Define the ultimate long-term goal and set a realistic time-frame for its attainment. Write each goal out in precise detail.

#3 Make An Action Plan

Look at each goal and plan how you will achieve it. Write down exactly what you will have to do in order to be successful. Be sure they are positive steps, even if they mean doing what is necessary to eliminate any negative aspects from your life. Try to anticipate any potential obstacles.

#4 Define Projects and Tasks

You will have goals of varying sizes and complexity – some will be simple one step solutions but most will have several parts. So break your action plan down into manageable tasks or projects so that within each long-term goal, you have a number of smaller ones.

#5 Get What You Need

To ensure you achieve all of your goals you will need to have the right resources. That may be things you will need to buy, training courses you need to go on, or people whose help and advice you require. Define what they are, when you will need them, and how you will go about getting them. This is very important – don’t take short-cuts or believe that you can do it all on your own.

#6 Manage Your Time

Time is also a vital resource, in fact without it none of the above is really any use at all. So be realistic about what time you have available to do what is required. Assess what you do with your time now and put together a plan of how many hours each day, each week and each month you can dedicate to achieving your goals. Plan out your days and allocate blocks of time to doing the things you have identified as necessary to your success. Take it seriously because if you cannot find the time then maybe the goals you’re working on are not actually worthwhile at all. If you find this to be the case then you need to go back to step one and be sure you know what you really want.

#7 Create Good Habits

If you truly know what you want and know what you need to achieve it then you must take action consistently and persistently. You must make it a habit to work on your goals, to plan your time effectively, and to work your plan. Be sure too that you also regularly review what you are doing and ensure that you are still on track to your desired outcome and that it is still what you want.

So start today on building your framework and take a step nearer to getting what you want. But remember that your circumstances can change and the things you want today may alter in the future. So be sure not to do this as a one-off exercise but something that you take the time to re-visit often to be sure you’re heading in the right direction.
